Food Processing Dust Control

Our filter units are suitable for handling a range of dusts that are generated within the food processing industry. This includes the dust generated by cereal and grain processing, flour production, confectionary production and food & beverage production/processing.  With one of our BlueClean® filter units installed, your customer will see an increase in their product quality, compliance with industry regulations, reduced maintenance costs and improved health and safety.

System Design

Along with our BlueClean® stand-alone dust filter units, integratedAIR Filtration can also supply a full LEV system from design through to installation. Our Engineers have vast experience working in the dust control industry and can help provide the dust control system for you. Find out more here.

Prevent explosions with ATEX rated extraction

Many consumable dusts, such as; flour and other whole grains, custard powder, instant coffee, sugar, dried milk, potato powder and soup powder, have the potential to explode in the correct environment.

When dust clouds are not controlled and exposed to an ignition source, explosions can be fatal. Dust must be controlled at the source to ensure your business complies with Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) to protect your employees from explosions. Gases and vapours created in food production also need to be contained through a dust filter or oil mist unit. Contact our Team for more information.

Our BlueClean® range of filter units installed as part of a correctly designed LEV system will help reduce dust emission in operations such as:

  • Blending
  • Mixing
  • Coating
  • Milling
  • Bag filling
  • Conveying
  • Powder handling
  • Sack tipping
  • Drying
  • Process air filtration

Maintaining Dust Control

All dust extraction equipment used to control the dust must be maintained to ensure the system effectively reduces dust at the source and protects employees from inhalation and exposure. The LEV system needs to be examined and tested at least once every 14 months as per HSE guidance (HSG258). LEV records must be kept for at least 5 years.

Protect Employees

High exposure to dust in the food industry can lead to life-debilitating health conditions such as occupational asthma. Our BlueClean® dust filter units are built to combat these hazards and are suitable for extracting the various dusts produced at the source.
